The Bedford County Fair proudly introduces the Ken Palmer Memorial Scholarship Contest, honoring the legacy of Ken Palmer, a dedicated Bedford community leader and agriculture advocate. His efforts were vital in the return of the Bedford County Fair and in creating opportunities for Bedford 4-H and FFA members.
​
This scholarship supports and encourages Bedford County youth who share Ken Palmer's passion for agriculture and community service, aiming to inspire future generations to continue his vision for a thriving agricultural community.
Scholarship Prizes:

Winner: $1000 Scholarship

Runner Up: $500 Scholarship
Funds can be used for educational pursuits including college, career training, STEM education programs, and academic/agricultural camps through FFA and 4-H programs. The highest-placing female contestant may participate in the Miss Virginia Association of Fairs Pageant and wear the title of Miss Bedford County Fair.

Eligibility:

Open to Bedford County youth aged 14-19 (as of January 1, 2024)
-
Previous first-place winners are ineligible to compete again; second and third place winners may re-enter.
